Thai Café and Tea Shop Design Abroad

Our Thai cafe design service for Thai cafés, Thai tea shops and Thai dessert shops abroad (Thai Café and Tea Shop Design Abroad) is led by the architects and interior designers of Queen Enterprise in Bangkok, for owners in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. We work 100% remotely, so you never need to travel to Thailand.

Orange Thai tea, traditional Thai coffee, Thai desserts and mango bingsu are now loved around the world. A Thai café needs little space yet can generate high sales per square meter, but the drinks market is fiercely competitive. The winners are the shops people notice first, understand instantly, find easy to order from and find beautiful enough to photograph and share. Design has a direct effect on sales.

Café concepts and projects

Why design your Thai café with a team from Bangkok

  • Authentic, contemporary Thai identity: a Thai team that chooses Thai colors, materials and simplified patterns, so foreign guests feel Thailand instantly while your café still looks premium.
  • Real café experience: we design and build real cafés and restaurants in Thailand and understand bar workflows, plumbing and customer flow.
  • Great value design fees: packages start from USD 35 per sqm, well below the cost of a designer in most destination countries.
  • Drawings ready for your local team: English drawings with a material schedule for site checks, permits and construction.

Key elements of Thai café and tea shop design

  • Shopfront and signage: visible from a distance with memorable color and light, telling people instantly that you sell Thai tea or Thai desserts.
  • Bar counter: equipment in work sequence, separate order and pick-up points, and a counter front that doubles as your signature photo backdrop.
  • Menu boards: clear categories, readable from the queue and easy to update by season.
  • Dessert display: a lit glass chiller showing Thai desserts and cakes for add-on sales.
  • Seating zones: a mix of two-seat tables, window counters and sofas for both takeaway and longer stays.
  • Photo spots: Thai pattern walls, arches or neon name signs that guests want to share, free marketing every day.
  • Retail shelving: tea leaves, coffee and gifts for extra revenue beyond drinks.

Popular Thai café color schemes and styles

  • Thai Tea Premium: burgundy, Thai tea orange and gold, as in our Siam Chaa concept, ideal for kiosks and mall shops.
  • Thai Tropical: timber, rattan, tropical plants and cream for a relaxed beach café feel.
  • Old Bangkok: vintage patterned tiles, dark timber and retro tin signs like a traditional Thai coffee shop, perfect for Thai coffee and desserts.
  • Thai Minimal: white, light timber and fine Thai line patterns for a clean, modern look in business districts.

Mall kiosks, street-front cafés and drink corners in restaurants

Mall kiosks focus on an eye-catching canopy or sign, a clear queue line and menu boards, with little or no seating. Street-front cafés use glass shopfronts and illuminated signs to draw people in from the sidewalk, plus a takeaway window. If you already run a Thai restaurant, we can scale the concept down into a Thai tea bar or dessert corner inside it, raising revenue per table without opening a new shop. For owners planning several branches or a franchise, we prepare a design guideline so every branch carries the same brand.

Designing a café that sells more

Successful cafés place every element to lift sales. The dessert display sits beside the order point to encourage add-ons, retail shelving lines the exit route, window seating makes the shop look lively from outside, and counter lighting makes every drink look delicious in photos. We also plan for delivery, with a pick-up point for riders separate from walk-in guests, so queues never mix during the rush hour.

Frequently asked questions

1. Can you design a Thai café abroad without visiting the site?

Yes. We work from your floor plan, an iPhone LiDAR scan and photos, together with online meetings. Your local contractor then verifies the dimensions on site before construction starts.

2. How much space does a Thai tea shop or café need?

A mall kiosk can start at around 15–30 sqm. A café with 20–30 seats needs about 60–100 sqm including the bar and back of house.

3. How is a Thai café different from a regular café?

A Thai café tells a Thai story through color, materials, patterns and menu, such as Thai tea, traditional Thai coffee, Thai desserts and mango bingsu, while still looking contemporary and suited to its neighborhood, never like a theme park.

4. How do you design a bar counter that serves fast?

Equipment follows the work sequence from order to brewing, finishing and hand-off, with separate order and pick-up points, a menu board readable from the queue and room for two or three staff to work without bumping into each other at peak times.

5. How is the design fee for a Thai café calculated?

By floor area: Concept USD 35, Design USD 65 and Signature USD 95 per sqm, with minimum fees for spaces under 100 sqm, plus a USD 1,500 Thai Shop Refresh package for existing shops.

6. My café is already open. Can it look more Thai without a rebuild?

Yes. Thai Shop Refresh at USD 1,500 flat for shops up to 80 sqm gives you 3 x 3D views and a décor list for your local team to install.

7. Does a mall shop design need approval from the mall?

Most malls require tenants to submit designs under their tenant design criteria. We prepare 3D visuals and drawings for your submission and adjust them to the mall comments within the package scope.

8. Can you design signage, logos and packaging too?

We design the shopfront sign, menu boards and in-store graphics to match the interior, and coordinate with your brand designer so the logo, cups and packaging follow the same direction.

9. Can you source décor from Thailand?

Yes. With the Signature package we source lamps, Thai fabrics, ceramics, timber pieces and décor from Thailand and coordinate export to your shop.

10. Which languages do you work in?

Thai and English, through WhatsApp, LINE, email and online meetings. Detailed drawings are prepared in English for your local contractor.
